Girls Night In - Over $3000 Raised

05/11/2009

Norwest Recruitment’s Girls Night In was held on Friday 31st October 2009 in Castle Hill and was a great success.

Over 60 women from all walks of life gathered to raise money for this worthy cause. Some of the games held throughout the night included trivia, famous faces and our favourite ‘Whose bra is it anyway?’ – Each guest brought a bra that depicted their personality to hang on the clothesline. It was designed as a fun guessing game to celebrate being a woman.

We raised more funds through the following;

· An entry fee to the party with a donation for every item of clothing that was not pink in color, including shoes and underwear
· An entry fee for every game played
· Everyone was asked to bring a worthy item to auction i.e: - perfume, candles, Manchester, clothes, homewares, etc
· Pink cocktails for sale
· 3 raffles

Through much generosity on the night, we were able to raise $3100 to go towards the National Breast Cancer Foundation.

This is an event that we have held annually and the turnout has grown significantly each year.

Norwest Recruitment would like to make a special mention to local businesses that helped contribute to the Girls Night In including; Southwest Recruitment, The French Kitchen, Kimberly Clark, Party Lite, Gloria Jeans, Nutrimetics, Food with Flair, Ella Bache Winston Hills, Fernwood – Castle Hill, Cliché, Sole Revival and various other generous businesses in the local area.

Erica Westbury, Managing Director of Norwest Recruitment quotes “Breast cancer statistics are worse than ever.  We just don’t have a handle on it at all.  The least we can do is contribute financially to research.  On a positive note, I’ve had so many people ring and email to let me know how much fun they had that we’ll continue the tradition and do it again next year. I’m blown away by the generosity of people and local businesses.”

Have a read of what some had to say about the event.

"I wanted to say a big thank you to everyone involved in the Girls Night In. My friends and I had a wonderful time. It was obvious that a lot of work and planning had gone into the evening. Everything was so well organised and Erica was a gracious host. The competitions were fun and the auction & prizes were fantastic. I hope lots of money was raised. Thank you again for a fantastic evening." Tanya

"It was definitely lots of fun (and the best of 3 fundraisers I had been to in a fortnight). Thanks to everyone who was part of the organisation". Christine
